Welcome to my psychotherapy practice located in the vibrant town of Ennis! With a rich background of nearly 15 years in counselling and psychotherapy, I have dedicated my career to assisting tweens, teens, and their parents, offering both in-person and online sessions to cater to diverse needs.
I am proud to hold a BA Degree in Counselling Skills and Psychotherapy from the prestigious Irish College of Humanities and Applied Sciences (ICHAS) and a MA Degree in Art Therapy from the Cork Institute of Technology (CIT), Crawford College of Arts and Design. My professional accreditations include memberships with the Association of Professional Counsellors and Psychotherapists in Ireland (APCP), the Irish Association of Creative Arts Therapists (IACAT), and the Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health (ACAMH), ensuring that my practice adheres to the highest ethical standards and guidelines.
My practice is centered around addressing the profound impacts of generational and childhood traumas, as well as the limiting beliefs and adverse experiences that influence family dynamics and the parent-child relationship. Recognising the deep emotional scars that can disrupt familial bonds, I provide a safe, nurturing environment where these issues can be explored and healed. My therapeutic approach is designed to help families understand the underpinnings of their interactions and to foster a healthier, more connected relationship.
In therapy, we delve into the influences of past traumas on current relationships and work collaboratively towards healing and transforming the family system. This process aids parents in gaining a deeper insight into their behaviours and those of their children, thus facilitating a supportive and understanding atmosphere. By challenging and reshaping limiting beliefs and negative patterns, we promote positive changes and cultivate an environment that supports genuine connections and emotional health.
I utilise a humanistic and integrative therapeutic approach, combining various theories and methodologies to suit individual client needs. My practice incorporates time-proven psychotherapy techniques along with contemporary insights from neuroscience to offer effective, personalised care. The therapeutic modalities I offer include Art Therapy, Sand and Play Therapy, Person-Centered Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Meditation, ensuring a holistic and tailored therapeutic experience.
Whether you're facing parenting challenges, relationship issues, or personal struggles, my practice offers diverse therapeutic services. Parenting therapy is designed to enhance skills and communication, empowering you to foster a supportive environment at home. Couple therapy provides a space to address and resolve relationship difficulties, strengthening your partnership. Personal therapy offers a safe place for individual growth, helping you navigate personal obstacles and emotional stress. For children and teens, I offer tailored interventions to boost confidence, develop coping mechanisms, and improve emotional well-being.
Regardless of the chosen method, my primary role is to guide and support you, helping you discover and harness your inner strength and resilience throughout the healing process.
It is my commitment to provide a supportive pathway that enhances self-awareness, promotes personal development, and leads to a fulfilling and balanced family life.
You are welcome to schedule a phone call with me to discuss your specific needs and how I can support you and your family in overcoming the challenges you face.
Yours sincerely,
Tatjana Simakova
