I felt like each session was very productive

5 50 Psychotherapist Consultation

Dr D is a quick problem-solver and in many ways a teacher. I particularly liked her practical exercises and the way she made me reflect on a problem, looking at it from different angles and through a new light.

Her focus, dedication to sharing knowledge and wisdom - I felt like each session was very productive. She is also a friendly and direct counsellor, which brings a human touch to therapy.

She asks the right questions but also helps you immediately with advice

5 50 Psychologist Consultation

Dr Freeman was excellent, she's a therapist that listens. She asks the right questions but also helps you immediately with advice.

My insurance suggested it and I looked up the choices I was given. Dr Freeman's background and expertise were what made me go to her. Her scheduling calendar is also a plus!

Using her techniques and encouragement, I feel confident that I will be able to combat it

4.5 50 Psychologist Consultation

I was seeing Denise on account of my anxiety and panic attacks. I had 6 sessions in total. After our first session, I immediately felt a sense of relief. Not only did I notice my panic attacks reduce, but I also felt generally happier.

Denise combined various psychological techniques to help me understand my anxiety, how to deal with it in a day-to-day situation. Also, how to improve my general overlook of life.

Whilst I am still working to resolve my anxiety, my panic attacks have heavily reduced. I appreciated Denise's instruction not to use therapy as a crutch but to feel confident in myself. Using her techniques and encouragement, I feel confident that I will be able to combat it.

Thanks so much for your help.

The clinic itself was very comfortable and simple. Great for a therapy setting inducing a clear head and ability to feel at ease when discovering one's internal state.

Her intuition is extremely sharp, which allowed her to fast track to the issues at hand

5 50 Psychologist Consultation • Paid: £100

Dr Denise is the complete psychologist in my opinion. She has all the traits and skills of what I would expect to experience in a top-level modern day psychologist.

Her intuition is extremely sharp, which allowed her to fast track to the issues at hand. She gave me clarity in some "breakthrough" moments. Which came quite quick in my circumstances while maintaining a safe and supported environment at all times.

You know in your gut when you are working with the top level of any profession and Denise is most certainly there.

Thank you, Denise, for all your help and support.

It was a really valuable process for me and I am extremely grateful for her support

5 50 CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Dr. Freeman is an excellent therapist. By combining a few techniques over a 10 session course of CBT, we worked through my fear of flying and the underlying causes for it.

My goal at the beginning was to be in a place where I could cope with a long-haul flight and we succeeded in achieving this.

She is a patient therapist who is structured and clear with her advice. Also someone who clearly gives her patients the space to vent and work through things themselves.

It was a really valuable process for me and I am extremely grateful for her support.

The doctor changed my life and I would 100% recommend her as a counsellor

5 50 Psychologist Consultation

I saw Dr Freeman for a series of sessions. She dealt with my problems and issues in a constructive way. She did not sugar coat anything, we worked through the reality of the problem and put structured processes in place to take me forward.

She gave me the confidence to "make leaps" and as a result, she changed my life - it literally is not too big a statement to make. She changed my life and I would 100% recommend her as a counsellor.

I genuinely appreciated how she combines her techniques

4.5 50 Psychologist Consultation • Paid: £100

When I started seeing Denise I was in quite a dark place. All aspects of my life didn’t feel right. There were health problems, my career was absolutely undetermined, my marriage didn’t feel right, so my sense of self-worthiness needed a lot of attention.

I genuinely appreciated how Denise combines her techniques; she would listen and be sympathetic with the most sensitive questions, but still, bring up the difficult questions I was trying to bury deep in my brain and avoid answering. In the situations where I need confidence and am afraid to make the next step, she would encourage me and act almost as a life coach.

Denise really takes time to get to know you and each session provides you with a couple of things to look at or to pay attention to. Almost like small tasks to keep you on your new path/ strategy.

I would have no second thoughts recommending Denise to anyone who feels that they would benefit from the therapy.

She provides fantastic advice and support from a wide range of sources

5 50 Psychiatrist Consultation

I went to see Denise as I was suffering from what I thought at the time to be anxiety and depression. Denise quickly identified that this was, in fact, a case of low self-esteem, subsequent negative feeling and showed me a completely new way to look at situations, look at life and hold my head higher.

Denise is an absolutely fantastic person and psychologist. She is so very positive, a wonderful role model, easy to talk to and get along with, and provides fantastic advice and support from a wide range of sources - be it clinical studies, life experience or a combination of the two, to help you look at things in a different way. I cannot recommend her enough. In addition, from the outset, she said to me that she does not expect a person to be in long-term psychology for the same need, but that she would expect to have 8-12 weeks with you to address the problem, this is great and not always the case with all therapists! There is an end goal and regularly checking in on your progress from Denise in the sessions.

Anxiety - Alternative Treatment

Anxiety is used to describe feelings of worry, fear and unease. Typically, it incorporates both the emotional and physical sensations we experience when worried or nervous. Anxiety is related to the ‘fight or flight’ response and, while unpleasant, this is a normal reaction when our body perceives a threat. We will all feel anxious at some time and it’s very common to feel tense or unsure about a potentially stressful situation, such as an exam, starting a new job, or moving home. However, some of us will be affected more than others. Despite being a normal experience, if these feelings are very strong or are lasting a long time, it can be overwhelming.

Couples Therapy

Couples counselling (which can also be referred to as marriage guidance) is a form of therapy that looks to improve communication and resolve issues within an intimate relationship. In contrast to counselling for relationship issues, which can be undertaken solely through individual sessions, couples counselling is a term applied to talk therapy for two people within a relationship. With this in mind, counsellors who offer this form of therapy should have the relevant training to help them work with the dynamics of a couple. While couples counselling is ideally suited to couples attending the sessions together, if your partner is reluctant you can look to speak to a couples counsellor on your own to begin with. You may find your partner wants to join you after you have had some initial sessions alone - or you may find it helpful to intersperse couple sessions with individual sessions. In regards to the techniques used, some of the work you do will take place within your counselling sessions themselves - however many couples counsellors will also ask you to carry out 'homework'. Typically your counsellor will ask you either to do a task or discuss something specific when you get home. During your next session you will get the chance to talk about your homework, discuss any challenges you came up against and how the experience made you both feel.

Biography:
My interest in psychology began in 1991 when I became interested in the psychographics of advertising. In 1998 I volunteered as a counselor working with juveniles and in 2006 embarked on an epic academic sojourn which culminated in the award of Doctor of Counselling Psychology, where I am now a chartered psychologist and a member of the Health Care Practitioners Council (HCPC). I have extensive experience in supporting older adults with health-related issues-including coping with cancer, bereavement, anxiety and depression; working relationally with mature adults with life and occupational challenges and supporting young patients with emotional and behavioural disorders. I have a natural ability to engage, empathise, put patients at ease, build and maintain lasting relationships. Having worked in Finland, The Netherlands, U.S.A, Romania, Malaysia and Nepal, I have a rich, insightful and balanced socio-cultural worldview.
