Mr Michael Brownlow

Biography:
Mike graduated with a 1st Class degree from Leeds Metropolitan University and has since worked in a variety of environments, including much in the highly demanding environment of Elite Sport where optimum injury recovery really matters. Mike completed a Masters degree from Nottingham University in 2010 which had a strong emphasis on making the correct diagnosis as quickly as possible. This enables the correct treatment techniques to be applied to the correct area of the body, and ultimately to achieve the best outcomes for patients as quickly as possible. Mike strongly believes that correct diagnosis is essential to managing patients and building individually tailored rehabilitation programmes. Often the site of the pain is not the site of the problem and his skills in diagnosis and innovation in treatment have at times resulted in patient’s not requiring the surgery that they were previously advised to have. Mike’s employment history includes full-time employment in the NHS, Nottingham Forest Football Club, The English Institute of Sport (British Swimming) Notts County Cricket Club and he now owns Advance Physiotherapy Network Ltd. Mike has been the Lead Physiotherapist for the Great Britain Speed Skating team for two Olympic cycles now, and this culminated in him supporting these athletes at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver and Sochi 2014. This work does take him away from Advance Physiotherapy for short periods during the winter season when he travels worldwide with the GB short track team to assist at competitions. However the need to stay up-to-date with all the latest treatments for these elite athletes benefits his own patients significantly and other therapists within the clinic. Mike has post graduate training in manual therapy including manipulative skills often associated with Osteopaths and Chiropracters. Mike is registered with the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists and he is also a certified Kinesio Tape practitioner having completed the training by Kinesio UK and has gained experience in using the product for several years now.

Mr Mike Whichello

Biography:
Mike currently works full time in a musculoskeletal setting in Derby, treating a variety of conditions throughout the body. His caseload varies from chronic pain conditions, to acute traumatic injuries and post operative Anterior Cruciate Ligament reconstruction patients. Mike has experience in working with a number of athletes, including a period of working at Nottingham Forest Football Club. More recently Mike has worked closely with elite GB athletes, having spent 3 seasons working with National Hockey champions, Beeston Hockey Club. Having now left this role, he now works on an ad-hoc basis for England Hockey. Mike is currently available to see patients on a Monday and Wednesday afternoon/evening in West Bridgford.

Ms Carly Glazebrook

Biography:
Carly graduated with a 2:1 from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2005 and has since worked in a mix of environments. Her employment history includes full time in the NHS treating a varied caseload of acute and chronic conditions and part time work at Nottingham Forest Football club academy and Notts County Football Club centre of excellence in which the later she was the sole physiotherapist responsible for assessing, treating and carrying out screening of all the players. Carly is available 5 days a week at Advance Physiotherapy including early mornings and late evenings. Contact the clinic for more details on her availability.
