Alan Taylor is one of the few physiotherapists that actually work on your problem as opposed to simply printing - or worse - emailing you a list of exercises. I have been going to him for many years with different issues and he has successfully treated each problem with care, compassion and supreme professionalism. So much so that I recommended him to a surgeon in York who is now using him for his patients.

I have been seeing Alan Taylor since 2009, some 14 years when I suffered badly from a Rotary Cuff Injury. Since then, I have received physiotherapy, massage, electrotherapy and ultrasound treatments for a whole host of mainly minor niggles to more significant muscle and limb injuries - all successfully treated.

His treatment is first class and excellent value, and he is my 'go-to' physio to sort me out.

The appointment was easy to arrange. The reception and premises were clean and comfortable. Alan was friendly but professional which made me relaxed. Highly knowledgable.

I attended Alans clinic recently due to back pain. It took only 3 sessions to ease the problem with massage and gentle exercise. I also saw him four years ago with a frozen shoulder with good results. He is professional and knows his stuff. I would highly recommend.

I’ve been with Alan for years with lower back problems and peripheral neuropathy. Alan is very knowledgeable and has been keeping me going as neither are curable. I go every two weeks and enjoy our sessions, with long chats covering politics, and most sports, especially football. His prices are very reasonable and I look forward to my next visit.

I have a low back problem that started 40+ years ago. Most of the time I'm totally mobile and pain-free. But every 18 months or so it re-surfaces in an extreme way with steering pain, inability to sit, turn over in bed and difficulty in walking. Having moved around the country I've seen several physiotherapists and chiropractors over the years, mostly to good effect. Having recently moved to Scarborough I didn't know which therapist to go to. Alan Taylor ranks amongst the best I have been to. After two sessions I am back to full mobility and am pain-free. He was hands-on with massage and low-level manipulation (I think). He is very professional, has a gentle manner and does a thorough and thoughtful assessment. He doesn't see you more times than necessary. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. £35 per session.

Since 1979 during my first pregnancy when I tripped over a box I couldn't see because of my bump, I have on and off I suffered from sciatica on my left side. I have also been diagnosed with having worn cartilage in my lower spine. Progressively my back problems worsened, with debilitating shooting pains and not being able to do simple tasks like take a roast out of the oven because my back would not support me. Then in 2007/8 Alan Taylor was recommended to me and I have never looked back (no pun intended!) All my muscular framework was out of wack and not supporting my spine and I was at the end of my tether and depressed. Alan got everything back into working order, though it took a few months as I could only go twice a month for treatment. He assessed my medical history before starting any treatment, he put me at ease immediately, he is so calm, he explains everything as he goes along, he inspires confidence. He's an agent. He won't string you along. If he can't fix you because your problem is not within his skill set, he will say so and make recommendations. I've found him to be very fairly priced for what he does. I've been stable just about ever since my main treatments and it's because if his skill and I've maintained flexibility through gentle exercises. I seriously have no hesitation in recommending Alan to you.

Alan Taylor Physio is a gem! As a person who had a Fibromyalgia (FBM) diagnosis and suffered an accident unrelated to my condition, Alan was the only person in 8 months who truly looked at my physical condition in an "open-minded way"! My GP surgery and the hospital all ignored my physical pains and new disabilities, attributing my symptoms to FBM, prescribing stronger FBM medication. I saw that I was not feeling any better with the stronger FBM meds. After stopping that prescription, my pains and mechanical activities (walking, reaching, bending, stretching, rolling over in bed, getting off a sofa or chair, getting out of bed, going up or downstairs, etc) did not change! FBM had nothing to do with the problems I suffered after the accident. Alan "gave me my life back" by providing an honest, non-judgemental, independent assessment of my situation. Alan Taylor, Chartered Physiotherapist: is "matter of fact"; to the point; will not force you to suffer pain knowingly or unnecessarily, and makes the most of every moment (does not waste your time - or his).
