I had an appointment with the physiotherapist, whose name I can't remember ( perhaps Marrianne??). She was very knowledgeable and offered lots of advice. The pain is improving. I have seen probably most of the practitioners here over the last 5 years and found them all to be excellent.

Sustain Sports & Remedial Therapy - Mrs Katy Fagge

Sustain Sports & Remedial Therapy

1 Twickenham Road, Norwich, NR6 6NG
Sustain Sports and Remedial Therapy is run by Katy Fagge: BSc (Hons) Human Physiology Level 4 Diploma - Sports Massage Therapy Level 4 Member - Sports Massage Association Member - Sports Therapy Association Registered with Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council Certified Rock Doc - Rocktape A keen athlete for many years, I first discovered the benefits of soft tissue therapy after sustaining a knee injury whilst competing in the Triple Jump at the National AAA Championships. This left me unable to compete and in great pain for months. Fortunately, a combination of medical care and soft tissue therapy helped to get me back to full fitness, giving me the desire to help others to be free from pain and discomfort. In addition to my clinic at Highball, I am the soft tissue therapist for the British Bobsleigh and Skeleton Association. Here, surrounded by coaches and specialists from other sports medicine disciplines, I ensure that my learning continues on a daily basis. I have worked as a soft tissue therapist at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games; the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games; and will be at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Ultrasound Therapy
Uses high-frequency sound waves to reduce the healing time of certain soft tissue injuries. Ultrasound stimulates the production of collagen - the main protein component in tendons and ligaments – thus accelerating healing. It can also have a positive effect on the fibrous scar tissue which can form after an injury.
Dry Needling £10 - £40
Acupuncture needles are used to target trigger points - often described as ‘knots’ - of a problem muscle which contribute to pain and dysfunction. Needles are inserted directly into the trigger point, which jump-starts the local nerve system, releases the knot, and increases the blood flow to the area. Dry needling is of particular benefit in treating deep muscle tissue that is more difficult to manage with sports massage.
Sports Injury Rehabilitation - Strapping and Taping
Can help prevent injury, prevent reoccurence of injury when returning to sport, and provide compression and support to an injured joint. The role of tape is to prevent excess or abnormal movement, and provide support to the muscles surrounding the joint that may be under additional strain. Kinesiology Taping is used to relax overused muscles and stimulate underused muscles. The tape has a lifting effect on the skin, which can reduce swelling and inflammation by improving circulation, and give pain relief by reducing the pressure on local pain receptors. The elastic properties can also be used to limit or encourage specific motion at a joint.
