Since graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Therapy from the University of Cumbria, Simon has been employed by a local sports therapist whilst also working alongside a local Thai boxing club. From this Simon has worked with a variety of individuals and conditions including semi-professional and amateur Thai boxers, a verity of other martial arts (mainly BJJ), dance groups, runners, racquet sports players, body builders and work related injuries to name a few.

Simon developed an interest in sports injury treatment and rehabilitation following a shoulder injury he sustained practising judo, this resulted in a passion for developing his understanding of the mechanisms of injury be it in sport or working environments allowing for effective and reliable implementation of treatments and individualised rehabilitation programmes to minimise your pain and increase functional ability.

Since graduating with a BSc (hons) in Sport and Exercise Therapy from the University of Cumbria, James has been employed at Vibralife Health Club and Fitness Clinic as a Sports Therapist and Vibro-trainer. This has exposed him to a wide selection of clients, allowing him to develop as a Therapist as well as participate in courses increasing his scope of practice.

Whilst at University James worked with Carlisle FC, Millom RUFC, Roose Pioneers ARLFC and University sports teams and dancers. He also spent a summer working with physiotherapist Rebecca Lewis in Barrow in Furness where one of Optimum’s clinics is now based.

James is a keen Rugby player, he has represented Cumbria and is currently playing for Millom RUFC. Having also played a variety of other sports at various levels James has gained great insight into injuries sustained within different sports and the specific rehabilitation required.
