I first visited Chiropractic Specialty Center somewhere in July last year suffering from excruciating Sciatica caused by disc herniation. This place is fantastic. The entire staff is super friendly and very caring from Naily at the front desk to Dr. Yama himself. During my first visit, I was examined by Dr. Shaun and subsequently by Dr. Yama who are both very professional and thorough chiropractors, and enormously knowledgeable. I was prescribed an initial treatment plan of 30-35 sessions. After a couple of months of treatment, my back pain was virtually gone. When I first visited them I could only stand or walk without pain for 3-4 minutes, now I can walk for 10 KM pain-free. The physiotherapist at this center Encik Dzaim, Kirisnan, and Danial are also amazing. They are all very professional, caring, and knowledgeable and “go the extra mile” to ensure you understand the issues and ensure that your treatment will help you in the long run. I highly recommend this place if you have back, body, or neck pain, etc.

Physiowerkz's Principal Physiotherapists are Jasmine Loke and Mahadevi Barathi.  Both did their undergraduate Physiotherapy studies in Singapore.  Jasmine was awarded a Post graduate Certificate in manual therapy from Australia.  Mahadevi was awarded a Masters in Physiotherapy (Neuroscience) from Curtin University of Technology (Australia). Because of their qualifications from Singapore and Australia, Physiowerkz Services is being run based on International Physiotherapy Standards, where effective and up to date treatments are used. It has been seen all over the world, that for good recovery from stroke, physiotherapy has to the moment the patient is stable, and MUST be continued for at least 3 weeks to 3 months. Delay in stroke rehab can only lead to bad walking, tightness of the legs and arms, and poor recovery of the muslces.   At Physiowerkz, we do a neurological assessment,explaining to the patient what is lacking and what needs to be treated.  Goals are in line with what the patient wants to achieve.   We also teach the carers how to effectively help the patient move and exercise without hurting the carers' backs, wrists, etc.

Ergonomic Assessment is the assessment of the work area.  The assessment is done with the view of making the posture at work comfortable, as well as to prevent problems such as neck and back pain, sciatica, pain radiating down the arms.   Objective measurements are taken, and recommendations are given either onsite, or in a report.  Recommendations are given with regards to how to improve the environment, as well as certain postures, or exercises the client has to adopt to avoid complications. We assess, factories, laboratories, factory settings, etc.   Mahadevi Barathi, has been working in Singapore, and has experience with ergonomic assessments and advice.
