Miss Jennifer Callaghan

Biography:
Jennifer is a physiotherapist with masters qualifications in both sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Jennifer has extensive clinical experience in the public sector and in specialist private physiotherapy practices in Australia and New York. Jennifer’s sports experience includes the assessment and management of elite athletes in sporting programs with Surfing Australia and Tennis Australia. In addition, Jennifer is experienced in the treatment of performing artists including musicians (Queensland Symphony Orchestra) and cast members of Broadway Musicals (The Little Mermaid, New York City). She has a special interest in treating shoulder, hip and knee problems relating to any athletic activity. Jennifer’s musculoskeletal experience includes implementing and managing physio-led screening clinics for patients with spinal pain who are considering orthopaedic surgery or neurosurgery. Her goal is to help patients achieve whatever they want – whether it is participation at a professional level, or getting through a day at the office without back and neck pain. Jennifer has also tutored masters physiotherapy students at La Trobe University and the University of Queensland.

Mr Tony Beecroft

Biography:
Tony Beecroft enjoys all aspects of physiotherapy, especially Sports Physiotherapy. He is the director of Melbourne Sports Physiotherapy. He graduated from Melbounre University in 2004, then completed the Master of Sports Physiotherapy at Melbourne University in 2011, attaining the 'Highest Achieving Clinical Student' award. He was then granted the title of 'APA Titled Sports Physiotherapist'. Tony Beecroft has a special interest in Hip & Groin, Shoulder, Knee & Ankle injuries, which are commonly seen on the sporting field. He has worked in private practice in Melbourne since 2004 and has been employed globally in the UK, Ireland and India in varying roles. During this time he was head sports physiotherapist for the Bhupathi Tennis Academy in India for 2 years, working and travelling the globe on both the senior and junior tours. Subsequently, he has developed a special interest in both shoulder, lower limb injuries and biomechanics, and is ready to assist you with all your running, jumping and landing injuries. Tony also consults from all of the clinics. It is from the Blackburn clinic that Tony has been working in conjunction with some of Melbourne's finest surgeons in the post-operative rehabilitation of patients following Hip, Shoulder and Knee arthroscopic and joint replacement surgery. As a Sports Physiotherapist, it is his goal to get his patients back to what they want (and love) to do, as soon as possible- whether that be sports, work or hobbies. He also lectures for Sports Medicine Australia on the Sports Trainers Program. Outside of physiotherapy, Tony enjoys keeping fit with surfing, running, football and tennis. Tony completed his first marathon in 2013 in a time of 3 hours and 52 minutes.

Miss Caroline Cleary

Biography:
Caroline is the latest addition to the Melbourne Sports Physiotherapy team. She brings with her a wealth of sports physiotherapy knowledge, having worked with elite level basketball since 2002 in both Queensland and Victoria. Being a previous state level netball player, she knows what it takes to recover and rehabilitate from sporting injuries. She is currently a physiotherapist with Hockey Victoria. Aside from Caroline's sporting prowess and experience, she enjoys her role as a lecturer for the Bachelor of Health Science (musculoskeletal therapy). Caroline has a special interest in child and adolescent injuries, and also holds qualifications as a personal trainer. Caroline is currently consulting at the Moonee Ponds clinic on Saturday mornings.
