Silvia Russo is a registered Chinese Medicine practitioner, previously on Maribyrnong Rd at Moonee Ponds Wellness Centre for over 6 years before starting up her own business here at Chi Temple Chinese medicine in Ascot Vale. Silvia is qualified and registered in both divisions of acupuncture and herbal medicine and is qualified in remedial/sports massage. Cupping, ear candling, dietary and lifestyle advice is included in consultations depending on the individual. Silvia Russo has a background in medical science, completing an honours degree in biochemistry at the University of Melbourne. Always having an interest in Eastern philosophy including tai chi, meditation and ancient remedies from a very young age, Silvia continued her studies at R.M.I.T. where she then completed her degree in Chinese medicine. She spent her last year of seven years of study treating patients in China. Silvia integrates both her knowledge of biochemistry and Chinese medicine in her consults and works along side other health practitioners in the area to help patients achieve the best outcome. As a registered herbalist only the best quality herbs which are TGA approved are used. These include Chinese herbs in granule and capsule form and Mediherb brand which are well known for the latest in research and development and superior in quality, hence, Silvia has continued to use them for the past 10 years. She also enjoys regular attendance at seminars and keeps up to date with new research in the biochemistry behind herbal medicine and phytotherpy. Silvia's interests also include digestive issues, integrative oncology (cancer), hormonal imbalances, chronic fatigue and post viral syndrome, weight management and weight loss, stress and anxiety treatment and management including adrenal dysfunction. Silvia has also completed further studies in remedial/sports massage. She combines her knowledge of sport's massage, exercises, stretches, trigger points and acupuncture to help treat sport's injuries and other aches and pains. Working along side physiotherapist's at the Western Bulldogs Football Club, Silvia is in touch with the latest developments in the treatment of sport's injuries and works alongside other health practitioner's in the area to achieve the best results for her patients. Silvia is a registered and accredited Practitioner for private health insurance, member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA) and Australian Association of Massage Therapists (AAMT), is registered in both divisions of herbal medicine and acupuncture with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and therefore registered with the Chinese Medicine Registration Board of Australia (CMBA).
