Our Doctor: Dr. Burak Onvural, MD is born in Izmir/Turkey. He is graduated from Aegean University Medical Faculty (2006). He worked as a Specialist Physician in Hand Surgery and Sports Surgery department of Tepecik Education and Research Hospital between 2012-2015. In this period, he finished his education in an International Trauma Society - AO (Association für Osteosynthesis, Switzerland) and worked as an instructor in the AO Society. Total Knee Replacement operation is suitable for patients with severe knee arthrosis (gonarthrosis) who cannot walk or maintain their daily activities due to pain and joint malalignment. Damaged joint surfaces (cartilages) are changed with artificial joint surfaces. A replaced knee can last as long as 20 years or even more.If the pain of the patient is intolerable and joint malalignment of the knee  prevents the patient to do his/her daily activities like walking, sitting, standing and ect., and all of the other treatment options are tried and non of them helps the patient to have a normal daily routine, knee replacement operation should be performed.The operation takes about 60-90 minutes. Most of the patients can bear weight in hours after the operation. Mean hospital stay is about 3 days.I prefer worldly well known implant brands in knee replacement surgery. I believe this helps to avoid many possible complications that can occur due to implant quality. Suture brand is another important issue. I pay attention using the best quality and worldly well known brands in sutures.Patients start early physiotherapy after the operation. Partner was having Lens surgery first eye went smoothly 2ds later second lens due to astigmatism went the same way with no problems at all, Esra was our English interpreter all I can say is First Class a credit to Can hospital. I had a gastric procedure, I'm over the moon first time in 3yrs losing weight steadily due to menopause. I would recommend this hospital 100% and already booked to return on May 23. From the driver at the airport to all the staff at the hospital the girls who arranged accommodation which was fab middle of Izmir thank you see the soon.
