The Camino Recovery Centre is an intimate eight-bed facility specialising in the treatment of addiction and (co-morbid) conditions such as trauma and depression. It is based in Velez Malaga in southern Spain, and is easily accessible from the UK via regular flights to nearby Málaga Airport. The Centre’s Programme Director is American psychotherapist, Don Lavender. He has held clinical management and consultative positions in some of the most effective treatment centres in the world. These include Sierra Tucson and Cottonwood in the US. Working with Don Lavender, is a small, but high-calibre team of clinicians, doctors, therapists and nursing staff – with specialist knowledge and experience in the treatment of addiction. The clinical team addresses the condition as a progressive illness that affects the whole family. It also believes that addiction is often rooted in a history of abuse and traumatic exposure – a view supported by a large body of recent research. Meeting clients’ complex needs *  We run 30- to 90-day, fully integrative residential programmes to treat both substance and behavioural addictions.   *  We provide a medically supervised detoxification for drugs and alcohol.
