Deep tissue massage focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue and is especially helpful in chronically tense and contracted areas. It uses mostly the same strokes as other massage styles but is much slower with a focus on sinking through the layers of muscle and connective tissue to release tension.

Utilising a wide range of advanced techniques for injury prevention and injury rehabilitation, including trigger point therapy, soft tissue release (STR), myofascial release and advanced sports stretching.

Usually included as part of your massage treatment, myofascial release works on releasing fascia which surrounds all the muscles and organs in the body. Fascia should be pliable and moveable but due to injury, lack of movement, poor postural habits and trauma it can end up dehydrated and glue like. 

Each technique involves a gentle application of pressure that slowly allows the bodys tissues to release down to the deepest levels, reorganise without force and let go of physical restrictions. It is a mild and gentle form of stretching that has a profound effect on the body.
