In 1983, Dr Kuznetsov graduated from the Kursk State Medical University, with a specialization in medical care. Then, for a 4-year period, he worked as an ophthalmologist, senior physician at the Eye Unit of Orel City Hospital. Since 1987, he was the Head of Department at the Krasnodar Branch of MNTK “Eye Microsurgery” named after Academician S.N.Fedorov; and from 1996 to 2002, he was Deputy Director of Medical Work at the same centre. From 1996 to 1998, he worked as a senior ophthalmic surgeon in a private Korvita Eye Clinic, Poznan (Poland). From 2003 to 2004, Dr Kuznetsov worked at the Novy Vzglyad Clinic in Moscow. In 2002, the doctor defended his Ph.D. thesis on "The differentiated method of choosing a surgical approach in cataract phacoemulsification" at the MNTK ‘Eye Microsurgery’.
Since 2005 – Ophtalmologiest-in-Chief at the Excimer Eye Clinic.
Since 1997 - Board Certified, Highest Category of Ophthalmology. Yury E. Kuznetsov performed more than 32,000 operations on cataract, glaucoma, retinal detachment, keratotomy, strabismus, implantation of different types of artificial intraocular lenses, phakic lenses, etc.
Dr Kuznetsov has over 30 research publications and 5 certified inventions. He has lectured in Russian and abroad: Moscow - 1996, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2002, Ekaterinburg - 1998, Orenburg - 1996, Kiev - 1990, Irkutsk - 1994, Nice - 2002, Paris – 2004. Dr Kuznetsov has over 25 years of work experience.
