Clare trained for 4 years at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York qualifying in 2003. The Northern College of Acupuncture is one of the foremost educational and research institutions for Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine in the UK. Clare trained as a Registered General Nurse, qualifying in 1992 and has worked in various fields including General Surgery, Ear Nose & Throat and Maxillo-Facial within the NHS. Clare is a fully registered member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC). The BAcC maintains common standards of ethics, discipline and practice to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the public at all times. Since qualifying for practice, Clare has undertaken research in the field of acupuncture and has been awarded the qualification of an MSc in Acupuncture by the University of Wales. She has also undergone postgraduate training in Gynaecology and Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine Support in Fertility and IVF, Acupuncture for Fertility and Pregnancy with Zita West, Spine Examination and treatment and Traditional Chinese Food Energetics. Over the past few years, Clare has undergone extensive training into Channel Theory which is extremely useful in the treatment of pain. Clare was recently selected by the British Acupuncture Council to go on a 2 week training course to Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Harbin, China. Here she extended her knowledge and learnt new skills including scalp acupuncture which is very good for neurological conditions. Have a look at her blog here .
