Originally a chemist I became interested in herbal medicine as I learned about the chemistry of plants.  I spent four years training to be a herbalist and qualified with a BSc Hons, in 2002.  I subsequently joined the National Institute of Medical Herbalists and the College of Practitioners of Phytotherapy, both these organisations only allow qualified practitioners to join.  As nutrition is often an important part of the treatment plan, I completed  further training in Nutritional Medicine, and received a postgraduate diploma with merit.
