Why did we choose the name "Shalom" Healing Centre?
We feel that the Hebrew word "Shalom" describes the essence of our Healing centre. Shalom is a Blessing on every level.
Shalom is more than just simply peace; it is complete peace. It is a feeling of contentment, completeness, wholeness, well-being, harmony, health, peace, welfare, safety, soundness, tranquillity, prosperity, perfectness, fullness, rest, harmony, and the absence of agitation or discord.
Here at Shalom Healing Centre we have a variety of Therapies available and can tailor them to your own needs. Focusing mainly on Reiki, Indian Head Massage and Crystal Healing we will do everything we can to meet your expectations

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us.
The meaning of the word Reiki compounds the words rei (: spirit, miraculous, divine) and ki ( vital energy, breath of life, consciousness). The ki (better known as Chinese or ch'i) in reiki is understood as meaning, spiritual energy; vital energy; life force; and energy of life.
A treatment feels like a wonderful glow that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, and mind and creates many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being. Many have reported miraculous results.
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. Reiki is a complementary therapy and should not be used instead of medical treatment.
Indian Head Massage is part of an ancient Indian medical system, Ayurveda, believed to be the oldest medical system in the world. It aims to restore balance and inner harmony to mind, body and spirit, improving health and prolonging life. Ayurveda recommends the use of massage, mainly to improve blood circulation and expel toxins from the body.
Indian women practised head massage as part of their grooming, initially limiting it to the head and hair, to keep hair in beautiful condition. Barbers also practised, combining haircuts with “champi” (head massage). The tradition was brought to the West by Narendra Mehta, a therapist who grew up in India and trained in England as a physiotherapist in the 1970s. Disappointed that massage in England did not extend to the head, he formalized techniques for head massage to include the neck, shoulders and upper arms as well as the head, combining massage with Ayurvedic elements of energy points or charkas, creating a therapy he called Indian Champissage. It is based on acupressure massage, and its benefits are felt throughout the body. The upper arms, shoulders, neck, head and face are massaged to promote relaxation and relieve tension.
Crystal Healing is a method of healing using crystals placed on or around the body. Crystals have been used to heal and restore balance since the earliest times. They help in releasing and clearing negative energy, thereby assisting in energy healing.
The earliest records of crystal healing have been traced in Ancient Egypt. India’s Ayurvedic records and traditional Chinese medicine also claim healing with the use of crystals, dating back to 5000 years ago.
Crystals are nature’s gift to man that augment healing. Crystals are found in all shapes, sizes, colours and compositions.
Each crystal has a unique vibrational resonance. They owe their unique qualities to their mineral content, their inherent geometry and the colour frequency they emit.
The human body has a complex electromagnetic system, also known as a vibrational energy system. Nature has created crystals to be perfect electromagnetic conductors, capable of interacting with our electromagnetic system. Crystals have been found to carry a vibration that activates certain energy centres within our electromagnetic system, thus having a positive effect on our entire body systems.
