I had a local anaesthetic, and Dr Soni carried out the procedure, which took more than 5 hours but was mainly painless and complication-free. After that, Dr. Soni gave me some nutritional supplements and post-surgery recommendations including sleeping with my head raised and refraining from drinking alcohol, smoking, or brushing my hair for the next week to allow the roots to recover. He also urged me to avoid direct sunshine, saunas, and swimming for a few weeks. This time, since I had already been burned once, I had to carefully adhere to all the guidelines. After about 8 to 9 months, I could see new hair growing from the transplanted follicles, and in about 14 months, I had hair that seemed nearly natural again on my scalp.
