Assoc. Prof. Dr Umut Rıza Gunduz, born in Ankara in 1978, is an esteemed expert in the field of general surgery. His educational journey began in Ankara and continued in Istanbul, where he earned his Medical Doctor degree from the esteemed Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine.In late 2010, Dr. Gunduz achieved the prestigious title of general surgery specialist. His professional career gained momentum as he joined the Antalya Training and Research Hospital in early 2011. Throughout his tenure, he has successfully performed a multitude of surgeries in various areas, including Emergency Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery, Hernia Surgery, Malignancy Surgery, and Obesity Surgery. Dr. Gunduz's commitment to academic excellence led him to apply for associate professorship. His specialisation research and scientific articles played a vital role in his application. In late 2017, he passed the associate professorship examination with distinction, earning the well-deserved title of associate professor. During this period, he also received extensive training in Advanced Endoscopy. Until 2021, Dr Gunduz served as a Clinical Instructor at the Antalya Training and Research Hospital, actively contributing to the training of medical assistants.
