The stimulation stage: during this stage patients start to use hormonal medication in order to produce more than one egg in their ovaries. The stimulation is started at home and patients need to fly to Budapest for their first ultrasound scan latest on the 6th cycle day and remain for the next 10-12 days. During this time the development of the follicles are closely monitored with blood tests and ultrasound scans. When follicles reach the optimal maturity, egg collection takes place. Egg collection is a routine performance that does not require hospitalisation. After egg collection, the eggs are fertilised and 2-3 days later (or 5 days later in case of blastocyst) the embryos are transferred back to the uterus.
