Old age, sunlight, usage of drugs like cortisone, heredity, fatness, heavy diarrheas, low socio-economical level, excessive smoking and alcohol drinking, reduction in the level of estrogen in post-menopausal women and excessive consumption of salt effects the formation of cataract negatively.
