Senior Ophthalmic surgeon on suburbs. Head of Ophthalmology Department of B.C. J. General Hospital (Asha Parekh Hospital) and Present Trustee of IMA (West Suburban Branch), Andheri medical Association . Mmember of All India Ophthalmic Association, Bombay Ophthalmic Association, Association of medical consultants and various other organizations. He is past President of our branch and at present he is the trustee. He has done thousands of Eye Surgeries including Cataracts, Glaucoma and Squint etc. Passed M.B.B.S. from Grant Medical College in 1959 , did House job in C J ophthalmic Hospital of J.J. Group Hospital . Went to London in 1961, worked in various hospitals in England, got D.O. in London and came back to India in 1964. Started practice in Andheri in 1964.He got attachment in BCJ Hospital, Ramwadi Eye Hospital, Ramkrishna Mission Hospital, S. K. Patil Hospital (Malad), Lions Clinic (Kandivali ) and Sanjeevani Hospital in Virar. He was pioneer in cataract Surgery and Intra Ocular lens Implant His hobbies include Oil Painting on canvas and Traveling.

Dr. Kumar J. Doctor specializes in removal of spectacle power by Excimer laser with LASIK surgery and Cataract Removal by Phacoemulsification with foldable and Multifocal I.O.L Implantation.He is a member of ASCRS, ESCRS, AIOS, MOS, BOA and AIIS etc and has held the post as member of scientific committee in AIOS for 6 years. He regularly conducts IC at MOS, AIOS, ASCRS and ESCRS and presents free Papers/ Posters and Videos on Cataract and Lasik. He has received several awards & contributed many chapters in ophthalmology including Daljit Singh Gold Medal Award by then Chief minister of Maharashtra, Shri Vilasrao Deshmukh and Best Academic Private Practitioner Award in the silver jubilee conference of MOS. Dr. Kumar has received Best Paper Award at ASCRS, Best Video Award at APAO and his poster was awarded 2nd prize in keratorefractive category in ASCRS 2011. At 12th Schwind World User's Meet Dr. Kumar was declared and awarded ‘First Ophthalmic Surgeon in the world” who successfully performed Presbyopic Lasik in Pseudophakic patients with brilliant results.
