I’ve been struggling with problems related to my nose for years. I’ve already had four surgeries, and I’ve been to supposedly all the “top” doctors in Germany – professors and specialists – but none of them were able to help me with my breathing issues. Instead, all they ever did was operate, operate, and operate again. At one point, someone even told me that my problem was psychological. My last hope was to find the best ENT doctor in the world, and I was ready to travel to the ends of the earth to do so. But that wasn’t even necessary. After a long and thorough search, I came across Dr. Murat Enöz, and I decided to pay him a visit. After extensive communication, I chose to travel to Istanbul to meet him at his clinic. Upon examination, Dr. Enöz discovered that too much of my nasal turbinate had been removed – the inside of my nose was truly a disaster. He told me not to worry and assured me that we would make the best of the situation. And honestly, I’m extremely happy with the result – both functionally and aesthetically. He exceeded all my expectations and truly gave me my life back. I can finally smell and breathe normally again. He’s a wonderful person, just like his assistants. I was genuinely positively surprised. Dr. Murat Enöz is my hero – he was always there for me and supported me from beginning to end, along with his assistant Mustafa. I’ve never met such amazing people who are so dedicated to helping others. He is truly the best ENT doctor, and I would recommend him to anyone considering nasal surgery. I only regret not finding him sooner. I can tell you this: he performs a maximum of two surgeries per day, and he takes his time to ensure perfect results – and he truly delivers. Otosclerosis, is the most common cause of stapedial ankylosis (or stapedial fixation). Its cause is unknown and resulting conductive hearing loss. Different ENT surgeons use a variety of terms for partial stapedectomy such as stapedotomy, stapes replacement, teflon piston procedure, small fenestration technique, etc. Audiological investigations which are, pure tone odiogram, speech odiograms, impedance audiometry, stapedial reflex tests, tuning work tests must be done. Radiological investigation includes high resolution CT scan and Schueller's graphy to acces the congenital inner ear anomalies and to demonstrate the cochlear otosclerosis. Stapedectomy may be carried out either under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia. After surgery, if you have a head dressing, remove it on the second post operative day. A cotton ball in the ear opening will be found when the dressing is removed. Please remove the cotton plug on the second day after surgery. You may see further packing in your ear canal. Leave this until your post-op visit. I prefer Kurz Medical and Medtronic products for stapes prosthesis.

The nasal septum separates the nasal cavity into the two nostrils and it contain the bone and cartilage. The cartilage is called the quadrangular cartilage and the bones comprising the septum include the maxillary crest, vomer and the perpendicular plate of the ethmoid.Nasal septum deviation (deviated nasal septum) is defined as displacement of the nasal septum. It is an abnormal condition in which the top of the cartilaginous ridge leans to the left or the right, causing obstruction of the affected nasal passage. It, can lead to contraction of the air passages of the nose. Although at different levels of septum daviations are available in many people. Most septal deviations result in no symptoms. Some septal deformities, however, may cause the following signs and symptoms: - infections of the sinus- sleep apnea, snoring- repetitive sneezing- facial pain- nosebleeds- difficulty with breathing-mild to severe loss of the ability to smell A simple majority is sufficient for diagnosis of ear, nose and throat examination. Endoscopic examination and computed tomography allows for a more detailed assessment. Medical treatment (such as such as decongestants, antihistamines, and nasal spray) relieves symptoms, but does not correct the underlying condition. Non-medical relief can also be obtained using nasal strips. A cure to symptoms related to septal deviations is available in the form of a minor surgical procedure known as a septoplasty or submucous resection (SMR). The septoplasty operation is performed quickly (lasts roughly 1 hour) and does not result in any cosmetic alteration or external scars. Recovery from the procedure may take anywhere from 2 days to 4 weeks to heal completely.
