Dr John Gilbert

Biography:
Trained in the University of Manchester Medical School, qualified in 1976. Though he always intended to end up as a Family Doctor, he took a convoluted route for the first several years, interspersing GP training with detours into aviation and diving medicine, among other things. He finally joined a practice in Somerset in 1986 and spent eight happy but busy years in Taunton where he had particular responsibility for computers and was the in-house specialist in asthma, dermatology and cholesterol. For the last four of those years his practice was deeply involved in the Fundholding revolution and he was also a Police Surgeon. In 1994 he succumbed to a sudden, overwhelming urge to live near his mother-in-law and moved to Malahide. It is his intention to provide the most comprehensive family medical service possible. He now also specialises in the treatment of substance abuse (drug addiction).

Dr Veronica Murphy

Biography:
Trained in University College, Dublin, qualified in 1985. After a career in Paediatrics he started in General Practice in 1994. Thus his particular interests in general practice are childhood illness and especially asthma in children. He has a keen interest in medical politics and is very involved in GP affairs (of the political type). He is married with five kids whose artwork can be seen on his surgery walls.
