Braces

Fixed appliances, Functional appliances, Removable appliances. NHS treatment available for all qualifying categories of patients.

 

Adult Braces

Adult consultations are available on the NHS. At this appointment your treatment options can be discussed in a relaxed atmosphere.

Ceramic Braces

Clear sapphire appliances are our brace of choice for adult patients due to their completely see through brackets .

 

Child Braces

NHS treatment is routinely available for our child and adolescent patients, providing the malalignment of your teeth is severe enough to meet the NHS criteria for free treatment funding. Milder cases have to be privately funded.  For all patients, your referral should be through your NHS dentist.

 

Clear Braces

Clear sapphire brackets.Tooth coloured wires are also available.  Invisalign clear aligners

 

Fixed Braces

All types of fixed braces are available. Metal, Ceramic, Lingual appliances.

Incognito™ Braces

We are an Incognito certified practice. Incognito lingual appliances are completely invisible, as they are placed on the back of the tooth surface.

 

Metal Braces

Metal braces are available on the NHS, free for qualifying patients. Damon metal self ligating appliances are available privately. Damon appliances can reduce the need for extraction of teeth in carefully selected cases.

 

Removable Braces

Removable appliances are used as an adjunct to treatment, or for simple treatments in the mixed dentition in patients under 10 years. Functional appliances, Twin Block appliances are used routinely in growing patient to trerat severe malocclusions on the NHS.

Orthodontic Retainer

Removable clear vacuum formed retainers, fixed permanent retainers. These are free if part of your NHS treatment. Prices quoted are for private or replacement retainers.

Orthodontist Consultation

Free NHS consultations are available for all categories of patients. Referrals for patients under 18 years should be through you general dentist. We prefer Adult referrals to be through your dentist also, but adults can book a private consultation by telephoning our reception directly.

Biography:

Duncan qualified BDS at Edinburgh university in 1983.  After over 10 years as a general dentist, he gained a place on the orthodontic specialist training program at the university of Wales Cardiff. He gained a masters degree in orthodontics in 1999, followed in 2001 by membership in orthodontics with the Royal college of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Duncan joined Perth Orthodontics as a partner in 2002 and has been the principal orthodontist since 2004.
