He spent 6 months after his initial qualification year in Restorative, Prosthetics and Periodontics at Birmingham Dental Hospital and subsequently, several years in full-time Oro-maxillo facial surgery. He went on to complete the senior house surgeon General Surgical Oxford rotation including Plastic Surgery, ENT, Orthopaedics, Renal Transplantation, Accident and Emergency and General Surgery. He has been placing dental implants for over 20 years and has taught and lectured on the subject for several years.
