After a fortnight, all my pain had gone

5 50 Mouth Guard

Excellent dental clinic.

After having a lot of pain in my upper gums and jaw bone Jim explained to me after examination he didn't think it was a tooth problem. He took x-ray photos and a scan and told me he was sure I was grinding and clenching my teeth during sleep( unknown to me ). He suggested a new treatment not used in the clinic before called S C I ( Sleep Clench Inhibitor ) which is a guard that goes over your teeth at night( very comfortable). After a fortnight, all my pain had gone would definitely recommend this treatment. Thanks, Jim.

Born in Bolton in 1974, Jim first came to the North East to study dentistry at Newcastle University in 1992. Graduating in 1997, Jim further developed his dental skills by undergoing a further 2 years General Professional Training, working with consultants at Newcastle Dental Hospital in all available dental specialties. Most of Jim’s professional career was spent at Queensway Anxiety Management Clinic in Teesside – A twelve surgery sedation referral centre. Jim spent most of his time in Teesside developing sedation skills and achieved his diploma in conscious sedation in dentistry with merit in 2002. After devoting most his time to treating anxious children and adults, Jim developed his cosmetic dentistry skills. Cosmetic dentistry is close to Jims heart, having broken his front teeth at the tender age of 7, Jim has firsthand knowledge of how important a confident smile can be to how we feel as individuals. Jim further developed his cosmetic dentistry skills with a yearlong course in Manchester and numerous one day seminars and hands-on courses in subjects such as toothwhitening, veneers, bonding and white fillings. After purchasing Hexham Dental Clinic in 2007, Jim feels he has now found home and is thoroughly enjoying the friendliness of the Tyne Valley. Outside of work Jim is a proud father of three beautiful girls and loving husband of 10 years.

Mark graduated from Leeds Dental School in 1992. He was awarded the prize for ‘Most Distinguished Student in Final Year.’ Following three years hospital training, Mark spent 2 years working in practice in London and Buckinghamshire before returning to his Geordie roots in the North East. Whilst working at a large specialist practice in Teesside, Mark developed a special interest in dental sedation and dental implants. In 1999 Mark achieved the Diploma in Conscious Sedation and Pain control in dentistry, and became a sedation trainer for the Northern region. Mark passed the examination to be accepted as a member of the Royal College of Surgeons Faculty of General Dental Practitioners, MFGDP(UK) RCS, in 2006, and completed the Diploma in implant dentistry from Warwick University in 2011. Mark has also attended numerous courses in Implant and Cosmetic dentistry. Outside of work, Mark is a family man, spending as much time as he can with his wife and two daughters

After a further 2 years postgraduate training in both general practice and hospital dentistry she gained her Membership to the Faculty of Dental Surgeons qualification, MFDS. Following this, she has furthered her experience and skills by working both in the NHS and private practice in the North East of England and Australia. Meghan is a friendly compassionate dentist, who strives to help people overcome their anxiety of dentistry, whether it is for simple treatment or cosmetically improving the appearance of their smile and teeth. Being committed to continually develop her professional skills she is completed a twelve month course in restorative and cosmetic dentistry at Paul Tipton's academy in Manchester in 2010. When not working, Meghan is keen on maintaining her personal fitness, with running, water sports, and going to the gym. She also likes socializing, dining and travelling when time allows.
