Undergoing a tooth implant. My original crown had become loosened by a cracked root and was about to fall out. I enquired about the possibility of treatment via a free consultation. The x-ray would have cost £5 but as I agreed to undergo the procedure to continue it was just added to the bill. An impression of my mouth was taken and an appointment made for the following week.
The next appointment involved numbing my jaw, removing the root, implanting the post, stitching up the gum and other areas where bone implant material had to be taken from. I was also presented with a false tooth on a plastic pallet.
After the anaesthetic died away and the swelling increased, I looked like a hamster but had no pain what so ever. The swelling subsided after a day or two. Still no pain or discomfort. I took antibiotics for a week and pain pills for three days.
Had stitches out after two weeks. Now my mouth feels clean and I am getting used to learning how to talk with plastic in my mouth. It's a bit like week old chewy stuck to the top of the pallet, tastes the same too! I have another checkup in a month and then with luck, my new tooth will be positioned before Christmas (2.5 months time).
Brilliant. A clean clinic with great staff and a great dentist. The car park is convenient, too. There's a TV in the waiting room as well. The price for the procedure is not cheap but is paid for upon initial treatment and then at the end.
I chose it because it was local to home and my neighbour recommended the place after he had used it for similar work. Looking forward to going back and finishing off a smile. It's a front tooth that went wrong!
