Dr Peter Coster

Job Title:
  Dentist
Biography:
BDS Dundee (2004), DPDS Bristol (2013) GDC Number 83275 Peter graduated from Dundee University in 2004 with a commendation. Having grown up in Aberdeen since 1990, he returned to his adopted home after completing a 2 year post-university training pathway which included working in community dental service and in Dundee Dental Hospital. While back in Dundee Peter worked in the Paediatric and Orthodontic departments which added to his interest in these aspects of dentistry. More recently Peter’s focus is on how these philosophies can be applied even in adult patients. Peter has always enjoyed further learning and went on to complete a number of post-graduate courses. These included a Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies with Bristol University in 2011 which focused on 3 specific areas within dentistry: periodontology (gum disease), restorative (crowns, bridges and root canal treatment) and oral surgery. In addition to this Peter has has an interest in restoring dental implants and is delighted to be able to have an implant surgeon on site at Inverurie Dental Practice. Peter is also an accredited dentist in several orthodontic systems including 6 Month Smile, Inman Aligner and Clear Smile Aligner systems. Prior to completing these courses, he also worked in a busy specialist orthodontic practice in Aberdeen for 2 years. He was able to see how traditional orthodontics is carried out, developing a deeper understanding in the diagnosing, treatment planning and eventual treatment of a wide range of orthodontic cases. This has allowed him to better understand the possibilities and limitations of all forms of orthodontics.
