Wisdom Tooth Extraction / Surgery

Wisdom teeth, also known as third molars, emerge during early adulthood. An impacted tooth is a tooth that fully or partially buried under the gum line and is unable to erupt properly.

Wisdom teeth are the most common type of impacted teeth requiring removal because they are growing at the wrong place and/or at a wrong angle. Seldom do they come out straight. The obstruction is caused either by the tooth in front of it or by the surrounding bone and gums.

Impacted wisdom teeth are frequently food traps and breeding grounds for bacteria. Thus, maintaining their cleanliness is difficult and infection is very common. Research lately has shown that overall dental condition improves after removal of wisdom teeth. Healing, after removal of infected wisdom teeth, is complicated. It is therefore common to remove wisdom teeth before they are symptomatic.

For Singaporeans and permanent residents of Singapore, it may also be possible to claim a portion of the surgical fees from the Medisave account.

Your first visit will include:

• Specialist consultation and examination (SGD$80 – SGD$150), depending on the length of consultation.

• Digital X-ray of your teeth (SGD$140) to enable a thorough and detailed diagnosis.

• In some cases, a CT-scan (three-dimensional image) is needed for evaluation of the proximity of lower wisdom teeth to the mandibular nerve prior the removal. The fee ranges between SGD$350 – SGD$600.

The fees for wisdom tooth surgery (impacted) ranges between SGD$950 – SGD$1,800 per tooth.

In less complex cases, for non-impacted wisdom tooth, the fees range from S$600 to S$900.

Singapore goods and services tax (GST) of 7% applies to our fees.

$500 - $2000

Gingivitis Treatment

Gum disease (Periodontitis) is always best prevented. However, if it has already caused destruction, treatment usually addresses the calculus accumulation and oral hygiene techniques to halt the disease process.

Your first visit will include:

• Specialist consultation and examination (SGD$80 – SGD$150), depending on the length of consultation.

 • Digital X-ray of your teeth (SGD$140) to enable a thorough and detailed diagnosis.

There is a range of fees (ranging from a few hundred to possibly a few thousand dollars) depending on the condition of the gums.

Singapore goods and services tax (GST) of 7% applies to our fees.

from $1500

Gum Surgery

Gums are the protective, pink tissue that covers the bony structure of our jaws and parts of the roots of our teeth. The thick and firm consistency of healthy gums maintain gum health. Thin gums and infected gums will compromise the structural integrity of the gums. When the gum line recedes (pulls back), the exposed roots will be quite sensitive to cold air/water. Gum grafting enables a new piece of gum tissue to be placed over the exposed root to restore the gum tissue back to its original form and position.

Your first visit will include:

• Specialist consultation and examination (SGD$80 – SGD$150), depending on the length of consultation.

 • Digital X-ray of your teeth (SGD$140) to enable a thorough and detailed diagnosis.

Gum grafting is from SGD$1,500 onwards.

Singapore goods and services tax (GST) of 7% applies to our fees.

Gum Contouring and Reshaping

Gummy smile correction helps those with who feel self conscious about smiling, to smile with confidence. Some people smile with a little bit of their gums showing but for some, a significant amount of gums can be seen when they smile.

Gummy smiles can be caused by the following reasons:

1. over-active upper lip

2. over-prominent upper jaw (maxillary protrusion)

3. Altered passive eruption, ie, gums covering more of the teeth than normal, because the gums did not retract to the “correct” position, or

4. a combination of the above. For an over-active upper lip (case 1), there is surgical and non-surgical treatment options.

For Wrinkle treatment, it ranges between SGD$600 – SGD$800.

In the case of (2) you would need to be assessed by our periodontist and prosthodontist together, maybe even with input from orthodontist and an oral surgeon. The duration of surgery, pain and bleeding are all minimal and the success rate is high when a proper diagnosis and case selection made are done properly.

Your first visit will include:

• Specialist consultation and examination (SGD$80 – SGD$150), depending on the length of consultation.

  • Digital X-ray of your teeth (SGD$140) to enable a thorough and detailed diagnosis.

The estimated fees for the gum surgery ranges from SGD$2,500 – SGD$3,000 for the range of 6 to 10 teeth (excluding the fee for other treatments, such as orthodontics, oral surgery, etc, if required.).

Following gum surgery, veneers are sometimes needed to complete treatment for a gummy smile (which may involve 6 to 10 teeth, depending on each individual’s condition).

Another option for gummy smiles is to crown the teeth after gum plastic surgery is performed.

Our fees for crowns / veneers is between SGD$1,800 – SGD$2,300 per tooth.

Singapore goods and services tax (GST) of 7% applies to our fees.

Root canals

The most common procedure done by an endodontist is root canal therapy which is the removal of diseased pulp tissue before infection sets in. Other procedures include incision for drainage and periradicular surgery (root end surgery). These treatments are needed in cases of abscesses, root fractures, cracked teeth, problematic tooth anatomy and to prevent extractions.

Your first visit will include:

• Specialist consultation and examination (SGD$80 – SGD$150), depending on the length of consultation.

 • Digital X-ray of your teeth (SGD$140) to enable a thorough and detailed diagnosis.

The fees for root canal treatment ranges between SGD$950 – SGD$1,500 per tooth (depending on how many canals are involved).

After a root canal treatment, due to the loss of the tooth structure, post and core restoration is required to restore the foundation of the tooth. The post and core restoration ranges between SGD$500 – SGD$650.

Subsequently, a crown on the root canal treated tooth is advised in order to reinforce the structure of the tooth for the longer term.

Singapore goods and services tax (GST) of 7% applies to our fees.

Veneers

Veneers can either be made from porcelain or from resin composite materials.

Veneers improve the appearance of ones teeth in the following situations:

  • Discolored teeth due to root canal treatment, stains from medication, excessive fluoride or other causes, or large resin fillings that have resulted in the tooth being discoloured
  • Worn down teeth, Broken or chipped teeth, even,
  • misaligned or irregularly shaped teeth, gaps between teeth.

The dentist will examine your teeth to determine if veneers are the appropriate solution for you.

Your first visit will include:

• Specialist consultation and examination (SGD$80 – SGD$150), depending on the length of consultation.

• Digital X-ray of your teeth (SGD$140) to enable a thorough and detailed diagnosis.
