Maguire Dental Care

Qualified from Trinity College Dublin in 1994. After working in a private practice in Dublin, Michael set up a general dental practice in Austin Friar Street Mullingar in 1999. From 2006 he has been based in Market Point Medical Park and rebranded his clinic in 2018 to Maguire Dental Care and located to Green Road [beside Aldi and Careplus Pharmacy] 

His practice ethos is to build a relationship with patients, taking them through life with a healthy functioning dentition. He enjoys meeting people and endeavours to prolong his patients’ oral health. This begins with an initial consultation or relief of pain through to a maintenance regime which Michael believes is centred around the hygienist care programme.

Michael particularly enjoys aesthetic and restorative dentistry and attends courses on an ongoing basis to keep up to date with latest dental innovations in order to provide the most up to date dental care for his patients. Michael is a member of the Irish Faculty of Primary Dental Care and the Irish Dental Association.

Michael lives in Mullingar. He trains underage teams for Shandonagh GAA Club and recently sponsored Shandonagh Ladies GAA team with new jerseys. He also sponsored Mullingar Athletic Kestrels U13 boys Soccer jerseys. He is a keen golfer and a member of Mullingar Golf Club.

Susan qualified from Trinity College Dublin in 2003. A native of Mullingar, she joined Michael Maguire after qualifying. Since then, Susan has built a reputable client base; helping our patients feel relaxed whilst educating and helping them maintain good oral habits. Susan is an integral part of the Maguire Dental Care Team.

Susan has a calm and compassionate approach to all patients. She is enthusiastic about her job and carries out thorough, proficient and modern treatments with personalised oral hygiene regimes for each patient.

She enjoys enhancing people’s teeth by improving the health of their gums, stain removal or teeth whitening, all of which ensures a confident smile.

Prior to completing her dental hygiene qualification, she worked as a qualified Dental Nurse with Dr. Maguire.

Katie qualified as a dental hygienist from University College Cork in 1997 and has since worked in private practices in London, Dublin, Navan, Carrick-on-Shannon and in the NHS.

Patricia is your first point of contact alongside Janice and Niamh at reception and is extremely proficient in assisting patients with all enquiries. She is exceptionally good at easing nervous patients due to her kind and caring nature.

Niamh is a dedicated dental nurse and has a high regard for patient care and comfort. She started working for Michael Maguire in 2016 and her interests lie in oral surgery and general dentistry.

Tracey has been a dental nurse for nine years. She trained and qualified at Trinity College Dublin. Throughout her years of dental nursing she has worked alongside dentists and specialists, particularly with periodonists.

Dr. Javier Leon qualified in 1990 and began his dental journey in Spain, Argentina, Zimbabwe and for the last 8 years in Ireland.

In Spain he was working in the private and the public sector with the most vulnerable.

Javier has completed many different courses to keep updated with the highest standard of dentistry.

His interests out of work is cooking and walking and disappearing into nature.

Dr. Stynes qualified in Trinity College Dublin in 2004 and has gained great experience throughout his years in dentistry in advanced root canal treatment and advanced restorative dentistry in Ireland, Harley Street and the United States.

Sean will make sure to put you at ease the minute you walk through the door with his calm nature and hearty laugh.

He hails from Dublin but we are going to claim him as one of our own as Sean has been a local in Mullingar for quite a number of years now. However, don’t expect to see him in a Westmeath Jersey any time soon.

Claire is from Offaly and worked for three years in Carlow before moving to Tyrrellspass in August 2020 when she joined the Maguire Dental Care Team.

Claire is not only a talented hygienist, but also has a honours degree in Music from NUI Maynooth.

She moved to Edinburgh in 2011 where her dental journey began in nursing and in 2016, she was accepted to Trinity College Dublin to start her dental hygiene training.

Claire has special interest in treating nervous patients and you will see a lot of Claire on our Instagram and Facebook page with Top Tips.

Her hobbies are keeping active, walking her new puppy and playing the piano.

Dr. Camargo has worked exclusively in the field of Periodontics for more than 15 years, completing thousands of periodontal cases, which makes him an EXPERT at giving you healthy teeth and gums.

In 2014 Winston commenced the PhD programme at Radboud University, Netherlands. Radboud University is a world leading institution in the study and development of new bone substitutes and dental implants. He has a special interest in the behaviour of different dental implants and bone substitutes in patients with compromising conditions such as diabetes and osteoporosis.
