Tom received his undergraduate training in Dublin Dental School and Hospital where he graduated with honours in 2000. He was awarded the Irish Dental Council prize for restorative dentistry in his graduating class. Following graduation, Tom spent a year working as a House Officer in Dublin Dental Hospital, after which he worked in General Practice in the UK and Ireland. In 2005, Tom returned to the Dublin Dental School to begin his specialist training. He completed a three year full time clinical doctorate program in Prosthodontics graduating with honours in 2008. Tom works in Interdisciplinary specialist practices in Galway, Dublin and Dundalk. In addition to his clinical practice Dr. Canning also lectures and has recently given educational presentations on Aesthetic dentistry, Implant dentistry and management of extreme tooth wear. He maintains professional membership with the Irish Dental Association, The American College of Prosthodontics, The Prosthodontic Society of Ireland and The European Prosthodontic Society.
