I have been attending Sullivan Dental in Carlow for about a year now. Initially very reluctant as I have a huge fear dating back to my childhood from a very traumatic experience. The anxiety, the knot in my stomach, the cold, the shaking, and the exhaustion were so real. Over time and with the help of a very special team my fear reduced each time. I was there again on Friday and I was relaxed and I felt safe. John had to leave the room for a minute and I was just thinking I feel calm, the fear is gone. The treatment and the equipment have developed so much. A simple thing like wearing black glasses also is a huge help. The team be it John the dentist or Aoife my Hygienist tell me how long each section is going to take so if you know it’s 30 seconds it makes it easier to process in your head. I was also told to tell them if I needed a break so by saying that to me, I felt I had a bit of control too. All those years ago I was not listened to, I had no voice but now I have a caring team who listen, respect and understand. Aoife is truly amazing and I thank her for the huge part she has played in alleviating my fear. Thanks so much to all the team. Dr Sharmistha is an excellent dentist - patient, kind, calm and very professional. I was nervous about attending the dentist when a crown broke (a different dentist's work 20+ years ago) but she explained everything in my first visit and the second visit was not stressful at all. The staff are all very professional and the clinic is a very calm, clean environment.
