As an alternative to conventional metal brackets we offer Ceramic braces. These brackets are used in the same way as metal brackets but match the tooth colour making them almost invisible. The top surfaces of your teeth arent smooth and flat. They are cris-crossed with tiny hills and valleys - called pits and fissures. These are places where plaque can build up safe from your toothbrush and dental floss. Some of the pits and fissures are so narrow that even a single bristle from your toothbrush cant get deep enough to clean them out making this area susceptible to decay.One method of preventing cavities from developing in fissures is to seal them off with a varnish called fissure sealant.The sealant is a tooth coloured liquid which when set becomes hard. Once applied, the coating is permanent and will stay on your teeth for a number of years.
The fluoride treatments you receive in a dental office have more fluoride than over-the-counter fluoride mouthwash or toothpaste. They are used for both children and adults. Dental-office treatments are also different chemically and stay on the teeth longer.We use fluoride gel with strawberry taste which is applied by using a tray that looks like a mouth guard for four minutes. The child is advised not to eat and drink for at least 30 minutes after the fluoride treatment. This helps to increase the fluorides contact with the teeth and have better results. Fluoride treatment should be performed every six months.

Dr. Loukia Stylianou graduate from English program of study, of the medical faculty of Charles University in Prague with the title Medical Doctor of Dentistry. Coming back to Cyprus, she created her own dental studio.
Dr. Stylianou is constantly looking for new things to implement in her growing team, at Dental Studio Stylianou. She created a concept of treatment planning, that she like to call No Half Smiles, where complete care dentistry in performed by her and the rest of the team.
She attend many lectures and symposiums mainly for aesthetic dentistry, in Cyprus and around the world over the last years that have pushed her forward as both a clinician and as a restorative dentist.
