Biography:
Associate Professor. Principal Paediatric Dentist. BDS, MDSc(Paed), FRACDS, FRACDS(Paed), FICD. He was born in Broken Hill, New South Wales and moved to Adelaide in 1979. He attended Prince Alfred College and represented the school in both the 1st VIII rowing crew and 1st XI hockey team. He graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1997 and completed his specialist training in Paediatric Dentistry at the University of Sydney in 2001. During this time he was based at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Westmead, Hospital, Sydney Dental Hospital and Randwick Children’s Hospital. In 2000 he was awarded the Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric Dentistry Colgate research prize. In 2001 Sam completed his Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.

Paediatric Dentist. DDM, MS(Paed), FAAPD. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry with expertise in providing care for children with special health care needs. Born and raised in Manila, Philippines, she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of the Philippines in 2001, after which, she practiced general dentistry in both private clinics and a community-based school setting in Manila. In 2007, she completed a graduate specialty Certificate and Master of Science degree in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. Following her post-graduate studies, she became a clinical assistant professor at the Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry, University of Michigan School of Dentistry from 2008 to 2011, teaching undergraduate and post-graduate pediatric dentistry and continuing in her faculty practice. She was also the director of the Pediatric Hospital Dentistry Service at the University of Michigan Health System which was a tertiary hospital providing care for children with special needs, complex medical conditions as well as emergency and surgical services both in- and out-patient setting. She received the David M. Weine Award for Outstanding Academic and Clinical Achievements in 2009 and the Lloyd H. Straffon Award for Excellence in Teaching and Mentorship in Pediatric Dentistry in 2011.

Paediatric dentist. BDS, BSciDent(Hons), DClinDent(Paed), FRACDS. Born and bred in Melbourne, she moved to Adelaide in 2006 to undertake her undergraduate dental degree. During this time she lived at Lincoln College, where she was a Residential Tutor and Academic Tutor. Gwendolyn received several scholarships during her undergraduate training for placements to Canberra, Alice Springs and Bristol, United Kingdom. She graduated from her Bachelor of Dental Surgery with a concurrent Honours Degree in Bachelor of Science (Dentistry) in 2010. Following completion, she relocated to work in private practice in Melbourne and volunteered for a dental mission in the central Andes Mountains of Peru. She returned to Adelaide in 2012 to commence a residency position at the Department of Paediatric Dentistry, Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Gwendolyn has also been involved in undergraduate lecturing and teaching since 2012. In 2013, she commenced her specialist training in Paediatric Dentistry at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and the University of Adelaide. Gwendolyn completed her specialist training in 2015 and during this same year, was inducted as a Fellow with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. In 2016, she was appointed as a Fellow, Department of Paediatric Dentistry, Women’s and Children’s Hospital and is involved with numerous specialist clinics, including the Australian Craniofacial Unit, Haematology, Special Needs and Trauma clinics, as well as others, all aimed at providing multi-disciplinary management of patients.
