What is a Butt Lift?

A Butt Lift is the surgical augmentation of the shape of the buttocks. Types of procedures include the placement of silicone buttock implants, fat transfer procedures, fat reduction surgery or a surgical buttock contouring procedure. Butt Lift procedures involving fat transfers are also called a Brazilian Butt Lift.

What different types of Butt Lift procedures are there?

Traditional Butt Lift procedures, also known as belt lipectomy procedures, are performed to remove sagging skin in the buttocks and thighs. Brazilian butt lift procedures are fat transfer procedures performed to give patients rounded and shapely buttocks.

How is Butt Lift surgery performed?

While performing the traditional Butt Lift procedure, the surgeon will make incisions and suck excess fat and sagging skin using the liposuction procedure or may insert buttock implants. The surgical procedure takes between two to four hours.  A Brazilian Butt lift involves taking fat from one part of the body that has excess localized fat through liposuction and injecting the fat into, or grafting the fat onto, the buttocks to give them more volume.  This procedure takes about two hours.

Is Butt Lift surgery painful?

Butt Lift procedures are performed under general anaesthesia and patients will not feel pain during it.

When will I recover after Buttock Lift surgery?

Recovery after traditional Butt Lift surgery takes about three months. This depends on each individual patient. Recovery after a Brazilian Butt Lift procedure takes about eight weeks.

When can I travel by air after Butt Lift surgery?

Patients can travel by air ten days after either type of Butt Lift procedures. They will need to check with their surgeon about their individual fitness before embarking on their journey.

What are the post-operative instructions after Butt Lift surgery?

Patients should take prescribed medicines correctly and wear their compression garments as prescribed by the surgeon. They should avoid sitting until recovery is complete and sleep on their sides or stomach. They should not lift heavy weights or perform strenuous exercise. They should take walks to reduce swelling. These post-operative instructions are given for all types of buttock lift procedures.

Liposuction is a surgical technique that improves the body’s contour by removing excess fat from fatty deposits located between the skin and muscle. Body sculpturing by liposuction is literally a dream come true. Localized accumulations of fat, which are often hereditary and frequently impossible to eliminate by exercise or dieting, can now be removed permanently by liposuction surgery, never to plague you again.
