Dr. Fayez Basha is a general surgeon with extensive training and long term, hands-on expertise in laparoscopic, or keyhole, surgery. He works privately as a consultant general/laparoscopic & obesity surgeon at the popular American Academy Cosmetic Surgery Hospital and also for the surgical department at The City Hospital in Dubai Healthcare City. Dr. Basha has had extensive training in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgical techniques in Dublin. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He is a member of The International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity (IFSO) as well as a member of the Saudi and UAE General Laparoscopic Surgeon Association. He currently carries out hundreds of laparoscopic obesity and general surgical procedures per year and has gained a reputation for his safety during performing surgery, with a very low complication rate and a zero mortality rate around the region (Syria, Saudi Arabia & UAE ). In 2005, Dr. Basha founded Emirates Surgery Organization to help provide patients with different surgery services in the region. He works with a strong team of allied health professionals to help patients before, during and after surgery.
