Inpatient/Outpatient: Either inpatient or outpatient depending on the preference of the surgeon and recovery evolution. Risks: Infection, asymmetry, rippling of the skin, pigmentation changes (hypo/hyper), injury to the skin, fluid retention and/or excessive loss of blood and fluids. Recovery: The patient usually returns to work after five to fourteen days. Pain, bruising, and swelling after the procedure is normal, and will typically subside within several weeks. You will likely need to wear a special compression garment for eight weeks to provide support minimize swelling, and help the skin conform to the new contours of the body. Results: The effect is permanent and must be augmented with a sensible diet and consistent exercise.
