My surgery consisted of breast enlargement and an upper eye lift. Unhappy with sagging breasts I wanted surgery to make them look full rather than large and my face to look more awake rather than lifted. I sent out several emails to clinics for advice and the response was very varied from none at all to very loose and generic with the exception of one. Dr Christian Almeda. He replied personally and swiftly with sound advice and was the only one to ask for photographs in advance so that he could make an initial assessment and personalise the advice. I had a two week opportunity to undergo the surgery.
I arranged 3 meetings with different consultants for when I arrived in Gran Canaria. Dr Almeda, being the first. His English is good but he took the precaution of arranging a translator to be sure that all was understood. I found him to be very thorough, professional compassionate and believable. He advised on the procedure the products and the process. At this stage I thought that I was in need of both upper and lower eye treatment but he was honest enough to recommend just upper. I got the impression he genuinely wanted me to be happy with the new look and not selling me things that I thought I wanted but didn’t need. Feeling completely comfortable with Dr Almeda’s approach I opted to cancel the appointments with the other consultants and arranged the to go ahead with Dr Almeda. Two days later I had my surgery. He arranged for a private room in La Paloma Clinic insisting on his own anaesthetist. The operations took about 4.5 hours. My husband was reassured and encouraged to make himself comfortable and welcome to stay overnight whilst I recovered. The attention I received post op was most efficient the medical team were very keen to ensure that I was as comfortable as possible with regular observations and medicines administered as necessary. I was discharged the following day after Dr Almeda was sure that all was well. I saw him on a further 4 occasions for check- ups and always felt that he would have a happily seen me at any time if I needed too. So now I have A beautiful bust that makes me feel more confident and youthful without being an obvious enlargement. I like to think of it more as corrective and pretty eyes that make my face looks like it has been ironed rather than lifted under the knife. So pleased. Thank you Dr Almeda.
La Paloma was where the first assessment consultation took place as well as tests required. The Clinica Cajal was where the procedure was performed and the aftercare carried out. Both were very clean, and the Doctors and nursing / reception staff both efficient and friendly.
