Dr Lawrence Benner
Biography:
Dr Lawrence Benner an American from Southern California received the Associate of Arts Degree by completing a pre-clinical two year university course at the College of the Redwoods that fulfilled the requirements for entry to a college of chiropractic, medicine, or dentistry. He enrolled on a further four year university course at the Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa (the original and first chiropractic college in the World) and graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 1979. He successfully passed the state board examinations to practice in the States of Colorado and Washington. Dr Benner is a chiropractor with an exceptional level of experience (over 30 years). He has been in practice in Swansea and West Wales including the Werndale Hospital in Bancyfelin and at the NHS facility in Pontardulais and in addition the Nuffield Hospital in Hereford. In 2009 Dr Benner decided he wanted to refresh his academic career by returning to a formal university course in education. He successfully completed the further education teaching diploma from the University of Warwick in 2011.
Part of his teacher training involved working with the complementary medicine department at the Royal National College of the Blind (RNC) in Hereford. Dr Benner integrates his teaching background with his chiropractic practice by involving his patients into improving their health by lifestyle changes, diet, and exercise. He also presents educational sessions to groups of health professionals interested in chiropractic and to the general public. He does not charge expenses for being a guest speaker, however if a group wishes to make a donation then he asks that any donations are given to the charity 'Help for Heroes'
