Yes, different names, but all the same thing. Depends on whom you speak with and how they vary the treatment [if at all]. CIT stands for collagen induced therapy [because that’s what the process does]. Here at SkinteX we prefer to call it Dermalneedling. Again, we stress, we investigate treatments and only offer it if we whole-heartedly believe they are beneficial for your skin. Along with Dermalneedling, we use other technologies for different skin problems, such as laser, LED, IPL, along with medical grade Cosmeceuticals (not available OTC).

Some describe the laser sensation as the ping/snap from an elastic band, or needle, but our method induces less pain than others, which is noteworthy. Some of the light energy is absorbed by surrounding tissue, but there is no thermal damage to collagen nor scarring. You will see little white spots (vacuole bubbles) on the skin surface, over the tattoo, which is a good thing, as some light is absorbed. These white spots disappear over the next hour. You may have some oedema & erythema but again these will pass over a few days & is quite normal. Less than one third may find it necessary to take strong analgesics or paracetamol prior & post treatment.

Acne Scars Treatment

Acne is a common skin condition mostly affecting teenagers/adults & can also have psychological effects if not treated or managed. An estimated prevalence 90-97% among adolescents. It can also have a psychosocial impact should scar tissue develop. Acne can’t really be cured but can be controlled with treatment. There are scales for grading acne. There are topical & oral medications, which may fall into either the prescription or over the counter categories – eg: antibiotics, topical retinoids, benzoyl peroxide creams, etc. Your private GP is likely to prescribe Isotretinoin type treatments. The retinoid isotretinoin should only be prescribed with those have true expertise & a thorough understanding of the risks of isotretinoin therapy. We are dedicated to helping those not taking drugs, or post treatment, who still have skin or scarring problems. We have heard that some antibiotics are becoming less effective & retinoids having many unwanted side effects, but this is not the case with laser & light treatments! Acne Vulgaris is a common skin disease characterized by areas of skin with seborrhea (scaly red skin), comedones (blackheads & whiteheads), papules, nodules (large papules) & possibly worst of all permanent scarring. Notice that acne is not confined to facial areas but breakouts can come in different forms & can be on different parts of the body. And it’s not just restricted to youth; some continue to have acne into their forties!

Age spots can be caused by over-exposure to the sun & therefore appear on body parts which are constantly exposed, such as face, shoulders, arms & hands. These superficial marks are on the skin’s surface & usually black or brown in colour; and they are sometimes known as liver spots. Sun spots or solar lentigines are the same as age spots & the causes can generally be the same, as are the treatments. SkinteX treatments include recommendations to help avoid future damage & problems, allowing you to have a skin which regenerates with a younger, tighter, healthier feel. For best efficacy we treat these conditions with our technology of laser &/or IPL machines & include regular skin care treatments using the highest grade of cosmeceutical products (not available over the counter).
