Dr. Robert Rokicki, MD, PhD, a member of the Military Medical Chamber in Warsaw, is a graduate of the Military Medical Academy. He obtained his medical degree and license to practice medicine in 1988. In 1997, after passing the specialization exam administered by the Military Health Service Authority (Ministry of National Defence), he was awarded the title of Specialist, second degree, in Orthopedics and Traumatology. Three years later, at the Military Medical Academy in Łódź, he defended his doctoral dissertation and passed the doctoral examination.
Among his many specializations in orthopedics, his primary interest lies in dysfunctions of the hand. He gained professional experience in this field, among others, while serving as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Hand Surgery of the University Clinical Hospital named after the Military Medical Academy – Central Veterans Hospital. He continuously updates and deepens his knowledge by participating in numerous trainings and scientific conferences (e.g., the 7th Scientific Congress of the Polish Society of Hand Surgery). He is the author and co-author of numerous articles published in specialized medical journals such as Kwartalnik Ortopedyczny (Orthopedic Quarterly). He is an active member of the Polish Society of Hand Surgery, currently serving as its Secretary.
Dr. Rokicki specializes in orthopedic ultrasonography, arthroscopic procedures, and bone biopsies. He applies skeletal traction, performs fracture reduction and bone fragment fixation, conducts limb amputations, joint reconstructions, and anterior cruciate ligament reconstructions.
However, his main area of interest remains dysfunctions of the hand. In this field, he treats trigger finger and De Quervain’s disease, Dupuytren’s contracture, carpal tunnel syndrome, Guyon’s canal syndrome, rheumatoid hand, and tennis elbow. He has experience in the correction of hand scars, post-burn and post-traumatic contractures, reconstruction of chronic flexor tendon injuries using implants, peripheral nerve reconstruction of the upper limb, and excision of ganglions and soft tissue tumors of the hand.
