About Special & Different Addiction Services

We are a charity based in North Oxfordshire committed to delivering treatment to those suffering from addictions and, alcohol dependency, and their families in our community. Since our foundation in 2006, Special and Different have developed a unique flexible approach to alcohol dependency and addiction treatment. We know that when drinking and using, alcoholics/addicts are in the grip of a compulsion that changes their personality and takes away all the qualities that would otherwise allow them to lead successful lives. Untreated, addiction gets progressively worse, never better.
We do not judge, we treat each individual holistically, with dignity and respect and, as an organisation and as individuals we live by the principles embodied in the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous.

We at Special & Different understand alcohol dependency and addiction. We know what it is like to live with the illness of addiction and with the addict, and we can help.

We tailor treatment to suit the individuals needs.  Our treatment is psyco-social and draws from the wisdom of the 12 Step fellowships such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous and Al-Anon.  Most of our clients see a qualified addiction specialists once or twice a week, and work through a 12 week programme which addresses the reasons for their addiction, supports abstinence and develops strategies to avoid relapse.

Alcoholism Treatment
We specialise in Alcoholism Treatment, with our in depth understanding of what alcohol dependency does to the individual and their families and the process of recovery.  We support our clients to become abstinent and avoid relapse.
