In September of 2015 I started experiencing panic attacks when on stage, this was an extremely rare occurrence for me as I has spent over 10 years on the stage. As the months went on my anxiety began to get worse and my panic attacks began to take over my life and happen every single day. I had tried multiple therapy sessions all were different types. I had seen multiple counselors, some of which I found increased my anxiety, as I would discuss situations with them, although I never would resolve it, and therefore things I had forgotten about I was now begin reminded of. I had been told by one counselor that it would take 2 years for me to never have a panic attack again, or one day without one. This is when I began to look about different therapy options.
When I found out about hypnotherapy I was not sure what it involved as it wasn't the usual therapy that you hear people talking about. I decided to not look in to it much and to approach it with an open mind. I had my first session with Sinead in March and since the first session I noticed a major difference. Within minutes of walking out the door from the clinic I realized I no longer experience anxieties towards cars. I noticed then later on in the week I had only had 1 or 2 panic attacks, both of which were very mild and lasted a short period of time. After 2-3 sessions I had not a single panic attack. This was a major thing for me as I was convinced that it would take me 2 years. After a few more sessions any trace of panic attacks was gone.
My advice to anyone thinking about doing hypnotherapy would be to be open minded, anxiety is a mental illness and therefore it is yourself that is the obstacle. I know from my own personal experience, when doing other therapy techniques I'm not fully honest with myself, as well therapists notice that there is a certain area of your life that you may find hard to talk about, and therefore it doesn't get covered. With Sinead you get a sense of trust within yourself and her, and you know that what you say is confidential, this is why it is so important to be honest with yourself and not hold back form exploring areas of your life that have affected you. Hypnotherapy gives you the opportunity to relive a moment only this time change your mindset and see the different viewpoint. This leaves you with a better understanding of a situation and complete with the time of your life.
Do not be put off by the cost, see it as an investment to you future. Ask yourself how much would you pay for a life where you get relief from events that have changed your life.
The only way to get the best out of hypnotherapy is to just do it.
Working with Sinead I knew that she was someone a could trust and i didn't feel judged. Speaking to her is like speaking to a friend. When I started hypnotherapy I was 15 and it was the first time where I felt like I was being treated maturely, as previous therapist would treat me like I was younger than I actually am. Although the clinic was an hour away from where I live, I felt that it was definitely worth ever mile and minute. When booking appointments Sinead is very flexible and I knew that there would always be a time slot available. The clinic is a very relaxing environment to be in, especially the big leather chair. Sinead is very understanding and you know that she is well aware of what she is doing. She shows you clear understanding throughout each session, as well she gives you great guidance when discussing situations.
