About Mary McHugh
Mary McHugh is an experienced Fully Qualified Psychotherapist working in Co. Mayo. She works with individuals, couples and groups. Mary offers a Warm and supportive Service. Mary comes from a very experienced background. She is passionate about people and about the empowerment of them. So many of us can give our power away too easily. She has a deep belief inequality of the human being and will go to great lengths to support groups who have been marginalized in today's world. Her work has been with ISPCC, Cura, VEC, and more recently it was in the setting up and managing of a Suicide Support Page for People with Depression and who felt very disempowered. Mary's moving on from that organisation has only heightened her desire to work with very vulnerable members of our society. Mary would undertake a lot of Voluntary work and feels anything given out freely will be repaid tenfold and she has found this to be true. Her journey has been a very gracious, humbling one, laden with Gifts of the Heart. Mary takes a warm, compassionate and Holistic Approach to assist her clients with their personal Challenges and she provides a Safe, non-judgemental space so that they can begin to Explore what is happening for themes Human Beings, most of us, at some time in our lives find life's problems too much to cope with. This can cause anxiety, conflict, disturbed thinking and leave you feeling very confused. It can also have an effect on your loved ones which adds to your feeling of being depressed, filled with anxiety, anger outbursts and/or even thoughts of Suicide. Sometimes we don't have the words for what is going on for us, it can show itself physically, one can get a migraine, irritable bowel problems, back pain and general tiredness. It can show itself is not enough sleep or sleeping too much. One can find they are drinking or eating more. Our Bodies, if we listen closely enough is telling us what is going on. If we begin to listen to ourselves we will allow the door to open towards healing and wholeness - to the knowing of 'Who I Am' rather than 'Who I Think I Should Be'. Do you feel you know yourself intimately? It is You with whom you will have the longest relationship within Your Life. How gentle, compassionate and real are you with you? Do you give yourself a hard time? You can begin the journey to having a great relationship with yourself and in doing so. You are showing your loved ones through the changes in you, You cause the ripple to flow outwards to your family and community. We cannot change anyone, the only one we can change is ourselves. In Psychotherapy, you can begin to take that Step to Find the 'More Than' in you. 'All we need is a Witness' Mary received a high-quality Training From Dr Jim O'Donoghue and would have received training from Shari Frain Masterson, Dr Ivor Browne, Dympna Bonefield (Art Therapist), Maeve Lewis (Onein4), Tim Hannon, Brion Howlett, Mr Paul O'Donoghue Dr Harvey Wasserman and many more.
