About The Physiotherapy Clinic

Here at The Physiotherapy Clinic we want to

We want to make sure we truly understand what’s going on in your body – why its doing what its doing.

We believe that only then can we get the best results and above all stop the problem from ever coming back!

Did you know that your back pain could be coming from an ankle sprain you did when you were a teen?  Or that your shoulder problem could stem from an issue with your ribs?  Or even that the reason you leak when you cough and sneeze is because of your tight hip?  Who would have thought, right?!  But when you consider that everything is connected, then it almost seems illogical to think any other way!

So expect that when you come to The Physiotherapy Clinic to be asked lots of questions; questions about what you do each day, about past injuries and even about diet and toileting habits!  Expect that we will look at how you sit, stand, move and breathe.  Expect to be asked what you want, what your goals are.  Expect that you will leave with a full understanding of what is going on in your body and why.  And above all, expect to know what to do about it!

Ms Joelene Murdoch

Job Title:
  Physiotherapist
Biography:
When you grow up in a small country town like Leeton NSW, you don’t do a whole lot other than play sport! Like many of us, that was what ignited my interest in Physiotherapy. Desperate to explore the big lights of Sydney…..I studied hard, got into Physiotherapy at CSU Albury and after graduating (and a fair bit of traveling in between) finally made it to Sydney! It has been good to me so far; I love my role as the Director of The Physiotherapy Clinic (for almost 10 years now!). I found my husband, had my kids, and am extremely excited to be bringing them up in this great city.

Ms Erin Hickingbothim

Job Title:
  Physiotherapist
Biography:
I grew up in the tiny town of Tylden with a population of close to 600, nestled in the heart of the Macedon Ranges (one hours drive north of Melbourne). What brought me to the warmer climate and gorgeous beaches of Sydney? A 12-24 month job offer for my partner…..and that was 5 years ago! As a child I was always very active playing netball, tennis, swimming and riding motor bikes. And what did this mean? Yes, that I was constantly at the local Physio! I have always wanted to help others but hate blood and needles, and I loved my Physio, so the choice to become one was an easy one for me. In my spare time I love reading, keeping fit, camping, touring vineyards and sneaking home to visit my friends and family still in Victoria.

Job Title:
  Physiotherapist
Biography:
I was born in Adelaide and then lived in northern Western Australia until I was 10, before moving to Perth. I grew up, finished school and University in Perth; so I am a Perth girl at heart. When I was in year 8 at school I had persistent headaches. I went to lots of doctors and had lots of tests, none of which helped. I then as a ‘last resort’ went to see a Physiotherapist which was a success! From that point on, I wanted to be a Physiotherapist. During University I taught children how to swim and that is where I first decided I wanted to be a children’s Physiotherapist. I did a paediatric placement for university in Kalgoorlie with an amazing Paediatric Physiotherapist with over 30 years of experience, and this only further cemented my passion. On the weekends (like a typical West Australian!), I love to get outdoors and cycle, walk or run. I am a keen swimmer and have swum in the Rottnest Channel Swim twice. I have also competed in Triathlons, both Sprint distance and Half Ironman. I love competing and riding with others, there is something magical about an early morning ride!
