--Spent a further year in the United States as Research Fellow to Professor Miles Galin M.D., of the New York Medical College. Professor Galin was one of the pioneers responsible for the introduction of intraocular lens implants that are most commonly used to replace cataracts.

-- Worked with Professor Stephen Obstbaum M.D., who was later elected to the Presidency of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Professor Obstbaum was President of the American Academy of Ophthalmology in 1997-1998, recognised as the world’s leading Ophthalmic professional organisation.
