Reducing the damage to the health of patients caused by tobacco use is the focus of this NHS directed project. The project is instituted and conducted by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. The project consists of intensive stop smoking campaigns in community and institutional environments. Campaigns include zero tolerance to smoking in hospital environment campaigns, organizing community groups for smokers to help them quit smoking with the help of trained facilitators, campaigns to make homes tobacco free for the safety of children, campaigns by community pharmacies to provide support to help smokers quit smoking and preventing pregnant women from smoking.
