Prior to qualifying and during training Alex worked with his late father the renowned Osteopath and Homeopath Nigel Vukovich. In his techniques uses deep tissue massage to release muscular tension and relax the muscles with soft tissue procedures. He also incorporates MET procedures in his treatment. MET stands for ‘muscle energy technique which is active muscular relaxation. This technique is invaluable for stretching and relaxing tight and contracted muscular tissue and releasing the pressure on the joints and enabling greater flexibility prior to any manipulation. This he feels is vital as tight contracted muscles are more prone to strain injuries and also have the capacity in chronic cases to pull the joints and spinal vertebrae out of alignment leading to musculoskeletal dysfunction and bad posture.
