Dr. Lim Jit Fong qualified as a General Surgeon in 2003 and has been specializing as a Consultant in Colorectal Surgery since 2006. He is an expert in minimally invasive surgery and functional bowel disorders. He has performed hundreds of “keyhole” colorectal operations for colorectal cancer as well as other bowel diseases. He founded the Pelvic Floor Disorder Service of Singapore General Hospital in 2008, the first multi-specialty centre for pelvic floor prolapse and disorders in the region. He serves on the executive committee of the Society for Colorectal Surgeons of Singapore, Chapter of General Surgeons in the Academy of Medicine Singapore and is the Honorary Secretary of the Society for Continence, Singapore.
Dr. Lim has published numerous research articles in colorectal surgery and has authored book chapters in international colorectal surgery textbooks. He also serves as a reviewer for several peer-review medical journals.
Dr. Lim holds the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Department of General Surgery, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He is also a visiting consultant to Sengkang Hospital and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, 2 of the government restructured hospitals.
