Graduated in Medicine in 1967 at the Faculty of Medicine of Lisbon with a rating of Very Good (17 points). Completing Fellowiship in Cardiac Radiology in 1976, at the National Heart Hospital in London, made from 1977 to 1980 Fellowiship at the University of Louisiana at Diagnostic Angiography and Intervention. Then initiates the performing emboliação techniques for over 30 years. In 1978 was appointed Coordinator of Chamber of Diagnostic Angiography and Intervention, Charity Hospital in New Orleans and Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Louisiana.
